Clear Film Pouches

Clear film pouches use a transparent laminate so the product itself is visible through the pack. You can go fully clear, or keep most of the panel printed and cut a window into the artwork — a strip window down one side, a circle, or a shape lifted from your logo. Most brands choose a window, because it shows the product without giving up the branded surface.

Transparency has a cost: light gets in. Anything that oxidises or fades in daylight — ground coffee, chilli, turmeric, oils, botanicals — will degrade faster in a clear pack than in a foil one. Clear film works best for products that look good and are visually stable: pasta, confectionery, granola clusters, bath salts, dried pulses.

Clear Film Pouches — common questions

Can I have a window instead of a fully clear pouch?
Yes, and it is the more common choice. You supply artwork with the window shape knocked out and we leave that area unprinted. Strip windows, circles and custom shapes are all straightforward.
Does clear film shorten shelf life?
For light-sensitive products, yes. Ground coffee, spices, oils and botanicals fade or oxidise faster behind clear film than behind foil. For pasta, confectionery and pulses, the difference is usually immaterial.
Why is the print on the inside of the film?
Reverse printing puts the ink between two layers of the laminate, so the outer surface stays glossy and the artwork cannot scuff off in transit or handling. It is standard practice on clear structures.
Is clear film recyclable?
A mono-material PE clear structure can be recycled through soft-plastic collection points. Mixed-material clear laminates cannot. Say up front that recyclability matters and we will spec a mono-material option.
