A drink pouch is a spouted pouch designed to be filled with liquid, sealed with a screw cap and drunk straight from the pack or poured. It ships flat, stands when full, weighs a fraction of a bottle and takes up far less space in transit — which is why ready-to-drink brands, cocktail companies and liquid supplement makers keep moving to it.

About drink pouches
Common formats run from 100ml single-serve kids' drinks through 250ml and 500ml ready-to-drink sizes up to 1 litre refill packs. The spout diameter drives the decision: narrow spouts around 8mm suit thin liquids drunk directly, wider 15 to 22mm spouts suit smoothies, purées and anything poured. Tamper-evident and child-resistant caps are both available, and if you hot-fill or pasteurise, the laminate has to be specified for it from the start.

Drink Pouches — common questions
What spout size do I need for a drink pouch?
For thin liquids drunk straight from the pouch, an 8 to 10mm spout is standard. For smoothies, purées and anything with pulp or particulates, go to 15 to 22mm so it pours without blocking. Tell us the viscosity and we will match it.
Can drink pouches be hot-filled or pasteurised?
Yes, but the laminate and the spout both have to be specified for it up front — a standard structure will distort. Flag hot-fill, tunnel pasteurisation or retort in your enquiry and we will quote the correct build.
Are tamper-evident or child-resistant caps available?
Both. Tamper-evident caps are standard for retail drinks, and child-resistant caps are available where the contents need them, such as concentrated supplements. Say which you need and we will price it in.
How long will a drink stay good in a pouch?
That depends on the liquid, the fill process and the barrier, not on the pouch alone. A high-barrier structure with a proper hot-fill or pasteurisation step can give ambient shelf life; a cold-filled fresh juice stays chilled and short-dated. We will tell you honestly what the structure can and cannot support.
What is the minimum order for printed drink pouches?
100 units per design. Spouted pouches involve an extra spout insertion step, so the unit price at 100 is higher than for a flat pouch — but the minimum itself is the same across every format we print.
